Groovers
Just lay the flitch, flat side down, on top of the Capital Flitch Groover. Start the machine, and the Capital Flitch Groover does the entire job automatically, from end to end. No clamps or hold-downs are needed. The groover cuts are perfectly straight, and the grooves are always exactly the right depth and the right distance apart.
Choice of groove spacing (depending on the specification of your Capital Staylog lathe): standard and reduced core. Cuts staylog grooves in flitches up to 154″ (3911mm) long.
Grooves fit exactly the patented, hydraulic powered dogs (holding clamps) on your Capital Staylog Lathe. The bottoms of the staylog grooves are staggered, so that the flitch yields a maximum of rotary sliced veneer sheets. You have more operator control for the placement of the groove because the Capital Flitch Groover allows the operator to angle the grooves for smoother half-round cutting.
The blades used for grooving, feature removable inserted teeth that can be easily replaced when worn out. Waste resulting from the grooving operation is carried by a belt conveyor below to a convenient discharge point after the grooving operation is finished.
