The Capital Staylog  Lathe is a production machine, making 80 to 90 cuts per minute of veneer that is between 0.005" (0.127mm) and 0.165" (4.2mm). The thickness tolerance of the Lathe is 0.001" (0.025mm).

The Tilt Pressure Cap allows the operator to quickly clean away debris and to whet the knife. This reduces the downtime on each shift that would be required to maintain the equipment.

The Lathe is built with knife lengths from 125" (317.5cm) to 170" (431.8cm) and can take a flitch up to 30" (76.2cm) in radius. Two grooves are used to attach the flitch to the Staylog. The Reduced Core option can provide up to a 13% additional yield.
